Jamlet Music, LLC

1. About this policy

Jamlet Music, LLC ("Jamlet," "we," "us") operates the Jamlet website at jamlet.music and the application at app.jamlet.music. Jamlet lets people record audio and video performances, combine contributions into collaborative musical projects ("Jams"), and share those projects.

This policy explains how we handle personal information through these services. The service is currently a free alpha. Limited invitations do not make recordings confidential: anyone with a Jam link can currently view that Jam.

2. Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account, we process account identifiers, your email address, display name, authentication information, and any profile information you provide. Supabase provides our account authentication and database services. For email/password registration, Supabase processes your password for authentication.

Google sign-in. If you choose Google sign-in, Google supplies basic account information, which may include your Google account identifier, name, email address, email verification status, and profile image URL. Supabase processes this information to authenticate you and maintain your account; basic profile information may be retained as account metadata. Jamlet uses your name or chosen display name for your profile. We do not receive your Google password. This integration does not request access to Gmail messages, Google Drive files, contacts, or calendars.

Recordings and project information. We process the audio and video you record or upload, your image and voice when included, contributions to Jams, project titles and settings, contributor associations, and related media and technical metadata. Recordings can also capture other people or information in your surroundings. Obtain their permission where required and avoid including sensitive or confidential information.

Technical information. Our service and infrastructure providers process information needed to deliver and troubleshoot the service, such as IP addresses, browser and device information, request and authentication logs, timestamps, errors, and recording or playback diagnostics.

Communications. If you contact us, we process the information you provide and information needed to respond and manage your request.

3. Why we use information

We use this information to:

  • Create, authenticate, and maintain accounts.
  • Store, process, synchronize, combine, and play recordings and Jams.
  • Display profiles and contributions and enable sharing and collaboration.
  • Diagnose problems and improve reliability and usability.
  • Respond to support, privacy, copyright, and other requests.
  • Prevent abuse, protect the service, and comply with legal obligations.

Google account information is used for sign-in, account management, and associated profile features, not for advertising.

We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising. We do not use user recordings or Google account data to train AI models or supply them to others for that purpose. We do not use your creations in Jamlet marketing without separate permission.

4. Who can receive information

Other users and link recipients. Your recordings, display name, and other information included in a Jam can be visible to collaborators and anyone with its link. Links can be forwarded. Recipients may make their own copies, even though Jamlet does not currently offer a download feature. Do not treat the current alpha as private storage.

Service providers. We use Supabase for authentication, database services, and media storage, Google for optional sign-in, and hosting and infrastructure providers to deliver the website and application. Providers process information needed for their work. Authorized personnel and contractors may access information as needed to operate, troubleshoot, secure, or support the service.

Legal and safety purposes. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, protect people or legal rights, address fraud or abuse, or enforce our terms.

Business changes. Information may be transferred in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of the business, subject to applicable law and continued privacy protections. Any transfer of Google user data must also comply with applicable Google policies.

At your direction. We may disclose information when you request or authorize it, including when you share a Jam.

5. Browser storage and permissions

Jamlet and its authentication provider use browser storage and, where applicable, cookies for sign-in sessions, preferences, and service operation. Blocking or clearing storage may sign you out or prevent features from working. We do not currently use advertising trackers or third-party marketing analytics.

Your browser requests camera or microphone permission for recording. You can deny or revoke permission through browser or device settings; recording features may then be unavailable. Granting permission does not require you to publish a recording.

6. Retention and deletion

We retain account information and recordings to provide the service while they are needed for your account and Jams. We may retain limited information longer when necessary for security, resolving disputes, or legal obligations. The alpha does not currently have a fixed automatic expiration period for all stored data.

You can request access, correction, or deletion by contacting us using Section 10. Account deletion currently requires manual assistance; there is no self-service account deletion feature. Tell us the email associated with your account and the information or Jams involved. Do not send passwords or authentication codes. We may need to verify your identity.

Deleting a contribution may affect a collaborative Jam. We will assess the request and explain any applicable legal limits or effects on shared content. Copies retained independently by other users or other platforms are outside our control. Deleted information may remain temporarily in backups until those backups are replaced or expire; information retained for legal or security reasons will be limited to those purposes. We handle requests within applicable legal deadlines.

You may remove Jamlet's Google connection through your Google Account connections settings at https://myaccount.google.com/connections. Disconnecting Google does not automatically delete your Jamlet account, recordings, or information already stored by Jamlet. Contact us separately to request deletion.

7. Security and international processing

We use access controls and other safeguards designed to protect personal information. No online service or storage system can guarantee absolute security.

Jamlet is a United States company. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. Privacy laws may differ from those where you live. Applicable legal requirements for international transfers remain in effect.

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of information; restrict or object to processing; withdraw consent where processing relies on consent; or complain to a privacy regulator. Contact us to exercise applicable rights. Withdrawing consent does not affect prior lawful processing. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.

8. Age eligibility

The current alpha is intended for adults aged 18 or older and is not intended for children or school use involving minors. Do not create an account or upload recordings of minors for use in the alpha. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action, including deletion where required.

9. Changes

We will update this policy when our practices change and identify the effective date of revisions. We will provide additional notice and obtain consent where required, including before using Google user data for a new purpose that requires consent. Future paid features, new audiences, or new data uses may require additional disclosures.
